Passage: Luke 10:25-37
Our vocations are the roles we have in different places, with different people, and in different circumstances. It’s not that we orchestrate where God places us or the gifts that He gives us. Our vocation (or calling) is to be ready to serve our neighbors with the gifts that we currently have and in the situations that we are currently in. The variety of gifting that we receive from the Holy Spirit is reflected in the many ways we serve our neighbors. One person may give financial gifts, another may offer powerful and encouraging words, and still another may quietly care for the day-to-day needs of someone else. Ultimately, no matter what vocation you’ve been called to or what gifts you’ve received, we are all called to worship God by presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to Him.
