That which flows from the truth of God in our Savior Jesus Christ is for our nourishment, for our good, for our life. In a world full of distractions, we often find ourselves beat down, burned out, and looking in all the wrong places for hope, peace, and life. Christ, in this final “I Am” statement of the Gospel of John, drives home the reality that it is only in the truth and grace of God in Christ Jesus that we are truly set free in this life. It is only in Christ Jesus who nourishes us in His word, and in the gifts given to us in baptism and the Lord’s Supper, who can feed us, grow us, and transform us to live as His disciples.
